Tribeca Cinemas Gallery Exhibit of the Stop-Motion Animation of The Corpse Bride..Puppets & Concept Art..This exhibit tributes the artists who created the world-above & below-of Corpse Bride..excerpt from Gallery entrance poster
mrsasta message for you both johnny depp and tim burton were involved in alot of films together there is corpse bride charlie and the chocolate factory edward scissor hands and all the other weird ones
No, I just loved the movie...I always try to see all of either Tim Burton or Johnny Depp's work...it was a bonus that both were involved with this production.
All the photos I have here I took at an exhibit for the film that displayed everything from Storyboards to the actual "puppets" that were used for the film. The detail on them was great.
I was only disappointed that they didn't have a gift shop at the exhibit. I would have loved to purchase at the very least a poster. Reproduction puppets would have been fabulous.
I later did get one from Japan..a great likeness of the Victor Puppet and one of Scraps (the dog)..plus a mini repo of Victor as well that I used in my "Woody" series
I'm ashamed to admit I haven't seen the movie yet. It's been on my list for a while, but it's been ages since I've seen anything. The only oscar nominee I've seen is Crash, and that was on DVD. (I do own March of the Penguins, though.)
This and the Scraps dog were my favorites. It was ironic though how this being the "land of the living dog" she had less teeth than Scraps. Scraps if you don't know was the skeleton dog that was Victor's Pet, regiven to him by the corpse bride as a wedding present. Scraps had shades of Frankenweenie about him (the dog and title of) a film by Tim Burton that was about 25 minutes long
I'm addicted. When I won't eat, the powers-that-be grind them up and sprinkle them on my food. If this is the doggie equivalent of liquor and cigarettes, I'll take my chances, consequences be damned!
I am amazingly still able to be shocked and amazed. But, usually not by what is being done but by whom.
